Starting with v1.4.6, VoicyCare plays audio files from any cloud you have set up in the iOS Files app — iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and more. There is no separate sign-in inside VoicyCare. You just install each cloud's official app and enable it in Files.
This guide walks you through the prerequisites (enabling each cloud in Files), the playback flow inside VoicyCare, and what to do if something doesn't show up.
Overall flow
- Install the official app for each cloud you want to use (Dropbox / Google Drive / OneDrive, etc.) from the App Store.
- Open the iPhone Files app and enable that cloud.
- In VoicyCare, tap the file picker (📂) → Browse → choose your cloud.
- Tap an audio file to play.
iCloud Drive is built into iOS, so no extra install is needed for it.
Step 1: Enable each cloud in the Files app
iCloud Drive
iCloud Drive is enabled by default in the Files app. As long as you have it turned on under Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive, VoicyCare can use it right away.
Dropbox
- Install the official Dropbox app from the App Store and sign in.
- Open the Files app, tap Browse at the bottom, then tap the ••• menu in the upper right and choose Edit Sidebar.
- Toggle Dropbox to ON and tap Done.
Dropbox now appears in the Browse list and is selectable from VoicyCare.
Google Drive
- Install the official Google Drive app and sign in.
- In the Files app, go to Browse → ••• → Edit Sidebar and toggle Drive to ON.
OneDrive, Box, and other clouds
OneDrive, Box, pCloud and other major cloud services follow the same pattern: install the official app, sign in, and enable the entry in Files → Browse → Edit Sidebar.
Step 2: Play the file in VoicyCare
- Open VoicyCare and tap the 📂 file picker button in the upper right.
- The standard iOS file picker opens. Tap Browse at the bottom.
- Pick your cloud (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) from the locations.
- Navigate to your audio file (mp3 / wav / m4a / flac / ogg / aac) and tap it.
- VoicyCare comes back to the foreground and starts playing automatically.
The selected file is copied into VoicyCare's cache once and then played. Picking the same file again later is fast, since the cached copy is reused regardless of network speed.
Troubleshooting
The cloud doesn't appear under Browse
Open the cloud's official app and make sure you're signed in. Reopen the Files app and the cloud will be added to the list.
The file won't play / shows an error
VoicyCare supports mp3 / wav / m4a / flac / ogg / aac. Other formats — including DRM-protected music — can be stored in your cloud but cannot be played here. The maximum file size is 4 GB.
Long delay before playback
Files opened through the Files app are copied locally before playback. Depending on your connection, the first time may take a few seconds. Subsequent playback uses VoicyCare's cache and is much faster.
