How VoicyCare handles personal data.

1. Introduction
We respect user privacy and are committed to protecting personal data in VoicyCare.
2. Data We Collect
Audio file metadata
Title, artist, duration, etc. of files you select on device or in cloud storage (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.).
App settings
Volume, EQ, playlists, presets.
Usage data
Feature usage, crash reports (for quality improvements and troubleshooting).
Device info
OS version, model (for troubleshooting).
3. Purposes of Use
🎵 Playback
Play audio, manage playlists, adjust sound.
☁️ Cloud
Play audio from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. via the iOS Files app. iOS handles authentication for Files access. See Section 5 for direct Dropbox connections in Developer mode.
⚙️ Settings
Save and restore preferences.
📈 Improve app
Quality improvements via analytics.
🛠️ Troubleshooting
Crash and device diagnostics.
4. Storage and Retention
- On-device: settings, playlists
- Cache: temporary cache of audio files opened via the iOS Files app
- Developer servers: audio files and app settings are not stored on developer servers. See Section 5 for data handled by third-party services such as Firebase.
- Settings: until app removal
- Temporary audio files: deleted on the next launch except for the file played last. They can also be deleted within the app.
- App removal: Removing the app deletes its settings, playlists, and cache. Original files in Files, cloud files, and information handled by third-party services are outside this scope.
5. Sharing with Third Parties
We do not share data except with consent, legal reasons, or to protect safety.
Third-party data processing is described in Firebase’s privacy documentation and Google’s privacy policy.
Cloud storage via the iOS Files app
VoicyCare opens audio files from cloud services (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) you have enabled in the iOS Files app. Authentication for Files access is handled by iOS; this app does not store any access tokens or credentials for that path. Each cloud service's own privacy policy applies when you access content there.
Direct Dropbox connection in Developer mode
When you choose Dropbox in Developer mode, the app requests permission to read audio files and metadata. To keep that connection, access and refresh tokens, plus an ID token when one is received, are stored in the device's secure storage. You can disconnect it from Developer mode. This is separate from access through Files.
Firebase Analytics
Collects usage and device data to improve quality. Whether collection is on by default depends on Google UMP regional results (see “5.2 Consent and Defaults for Ads/Analytics”).
Firebase Crashlytics
Collects crash diagnostic reports (stack traces, OS version) to improve stability.
Sentry
From v1.5.11, to investigate bugs and improve stability, the app collects diagnostic data about app errors and crashes (error type, stack traces, OS and device type, app version, and similar) and the results of audio engine restarts. Exception messages, user information, network content, audio files, and screen content are not sent. Data is sent only from builds distributed through the App Store or TestFlight, and only while “Send anonymous usage data to improve the app” is on in Settings. Turning it off stops further sending and discards unsent data stored on the device (data already sent is not deleted by this). The data is processed on servers of Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., United States). See Sentry’s privacy policy for its data handling.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
Serves App Open Ads, banners, and interstitials. In EEA/UK we use Google UMP to obtain consent and show non-personalized ads (NPA) if consent is not given. On iOS we request ATT if required.
Firebase Remote Config
Delivers policy values like ad cooldowns or accessibility suppressions remotely. Data processing by the service is covered by Google’s policies.
Contact form (Tally)
We use Tally for the website contact form. Information you enter and submit is delivered to the developer through Tally to handle your inquiry. See Tally’s privacy policy for its data handling.
5.2 Consent and Defaults for Ads/Analytics
- Analytics: Whether collection is on by default depends on Google UMP regional results. In regions where consent is determined to be required (such as the EEA and UK), nothing is collected by default. From v1.5.11, if the region cannot be determined, nothing is collected and the region is checked again at the next launch. On a new installation, no data is sent until that determination is complete (after updating from an earlier version, the previous setting is used until then). In v1.5.10 and earlier, collection may be enabled when the region cannot be determined, and data may be sent before the determination. You can change this at any time in Settings with “Send anonymous usage data to improve the app”; the setting also applies to sending data to Sentry.
- Ad consent: In EEA/UK, consent is managed via UMP. Without consent we show only NPA ads. Outside EEA we typically use NPA unless the user consents to PA.
- Accessibility: We may suppress ads during playback or when VoiceOver is active.
- Frequency caps: App Open/interstitial ads have cooldowns and session caps to avoid excessive display (tunable via Remote Config).
- User choice: In regions that require consent, such as the EEA and UK, you can change or withdraw your ad consent at any time from “Manage ad preferences (withdraw consent)” in the app’s Settings.
6. Security

Access control
Minimal permissions.
Cloud authentication
iOS manages authentication for Files access. A direct Dropbox connection in Developer mode stores connection tokens in the device's secure storage.
7. Your Rights
📄 Access
View stored info in-app.
✏️ Rectify/Delete
Change settings, delete cache.
🚫 Stop use
Remove the app.
☁️ Unlink cloud
Disable any cloud service in the iOS Files app settings at any time.
8. Age
VoicyCare is primarily intended for users 13 and older. Users under 13 may use the app with parental or guardian consent. We do not intentionally collect personal data from children under 13 without consent. If you have concerns about how your child's personal information is handled, please contact us.
9. Hearing Safety Notice
